Hi all. Not so much a serious problem. Got a z18xe and below 10'c outside temp the guage wont move off the blue. Can do 20 mile trip to college in morning and wont move off the coldest position, the fan temp can be set to maximum heat and only coming through luke warm, Anybody go an idea what could be causing this? Think its causing more fuel consumption to as if it was cold would it not hold the choke on while driving still? any help mucho appreciated

Could be the temp sensor? or dodgy earth to sensor

thought that but if i think about it the air for the heater into the car is cold, would that affect that also then?

You'll overheat the engine with a fooked thermostat.

Change it mate it's getting colder outside. If it don't worry you then thick socks, gloves and a balaclava lol Don't blow it up though.

thats true, however its working the opposite way not letting it heat up atm

It's not letting the coolant in to the engine. That's why the heaters aren't working.
