Starting Over Again

hi had a project thread going for my nova which has now gone so i have bought a new one its a GTE with a 2.0 8v C20NE this is what it looked like the day i picked it up

now unfortunatly and hour after picking the car up it broke down after getting it home and stripping it down found out the cam had seized due to the previous owner blocking the oil gallery to the cam with instant gasket(whoops) anyway all that its fixed now and the engine run very well and is now for sale

Just to let you all know all this work is being done by a very good friend of mine Terry (ripley on here) TOP GUY

thats as far as it hs gone now will update when more happens in need of a few things for it to go in if anyone has them

single v pully alternator
single v bottom pully
exhaust manifold with lambda sensor and studs and nuts

same as the last one i never did colours are going to be white and black throughout am in need of some 16" black or white alloys and then its just the spray job to be done

the engine will hopefully be running tonight without the manifold though all the engine loom is going to be connected and we shall see fingers crossed

so would i my mate has worked his ass off on this car to try and get if sorted but we are stuck now waiting for an exhaust manifold to arive and i got to get and ecotec adapter plate also

yes it was already done when i bought it it had an 8v in it it has all been resealed in black to protect the engine bay

have hit a few little problems the header tank on the right is off a chavilier but it is too big to put the washer bottle on so we have decided to use the nova bottle and put a T peice in to connect the 2 pipes toether as in the pic

also the part in the next pic is getting in the way of the pipe sitting down properly aint worked this bit out yet any sugestions on how to fix this without spending money are welcome

the rest of the bits i need should be coming soon 300lb springs and the throttle cable i am buying a 3rd manifold as the other 2 have not turned up and hopefully an eco adapter plate aswell

the pipe to change it the one that goes to the afm from the air filtermine doesnt havea pipe of it like yours does.

it is the first time it has been started since i bought it so its a bit tappety will be getting a full service in the next few days

You really wanna air filter on it. Did you do the cam belt? When you put the camear down there its very worriey..

i got an air fillter and like i siad it the first time its been run fo quite a while a goos service will sort all that out

its had a new timing kit on it,plus the belt is just right, after it ran i checked the marks and belt again and all ok. This is not the first one i have done and wont be the last.

i have a problem when i have over half a tank of petrol whist cornering i get a strong smell of petrol i thought it was one of the lines but it aint the petrolis coming out of the petrol cap anyone got ant ideas on how to stop this

There should be a little ball in the bottom of the filler tube. Have a search as its been posted about before.
