Don't know too much about these.

I've been told that you can't use one to 'make your vehicle appear younger'. Does this mean that you can't have a prefix letter that comes after the one on your cars current reg?

i.e. if it's a 'J' reg, you can't have K*?***? or whatever?

What's the crack?

Thats exactly it from what i know, apart from E and F are not available for some reason, I found this chart on the DVLA's Sale of Marks site.

* E & F prefixes with numbers 1 to 20 only have not yet been released by DVLA. They cannot be purchased or ordered in advance by any person or company. If you would like to be kept informed of their release please let us know.

that's right mate - if your car is on a J plate - you can only use plates that are J or earlier - or the dateless ones like 444 ABC or something.

The plate i want has to go onto a T plate or newer - so it'll be a while before i get mine.
