Thought id start a thread in here to follow on from the "jesus handle" thread in wanted section.

Its one ive read through and LoL`d at so thought why not, especially as we shouldnt be spamming in there lol

So post away with your funny names for car parts like this


blimey / jesus clips (usually the clips that hold the window winders on)

As thats what you say when they ping off into your face or the scenery (as Ade will testify) lol

So what random stuff have you named, what have you named it and why?

Wee bits/wing nuts - the bits left over from your car when youve been working on it or replacing something, because you just wing em or throw em away and go weee lol

I had a happy pedal in my old nova XE - push this, everything goes backwards and it makes you happy!

Also, this made me LOL. The circlips that hold the handle onto the windo regulator, well as we know they can be a PITA to remove on certain cars but my mate takes the piss. When refitting he would fit the handle then somehow negotiate the circlip on with it in situ. When I fitted one once in his presence and just clipped it to the handle them knocked the handle on with my palm he was speechless lol

An ex of mine from a while back would refer to the gears in a car as 'this bit' (whilst making a clenched fist in a circular motion?) lol
As in, 'I'm alright at driving except for that bit' :D

I've also heard of the Jesus handle being called the **** me handle, and in some ghey instances, a grab handle... lol

A friend of mine got a flat wheel in his Cav one night and I brought him out a 145-70 13 nova steel rim lol and he wasn't having any of it, called it a pizza box, so since then standard Nova steels are called pizza boxes.

In highnsight I should have winged the wheel over the hedge and span off.

If we don't know what something is, or where it goes, it gets called things like 'Doofer' and 'Didgery Valve' etc
