View Full Version : dispack c20xe non start
right, i need some help. my mate has a r reg corsa sport with a late dis type xe fitted. the car was running, but after being sat for a year it now wont start. i've changed the crank sensor, plugs and fuel pump relay for ones off a running engine. the guy who owns it took the rocker cover off to clean it and removed the cam sensor to clean its housing, then refitted it. will the cam sensor stop it running? if not what stops them from running. the fuel pump isnt kicking in, like when the crank sensor goes, but it isnt the crank sensor.
Yes i think the cam sensor can stop it as it needs to be so far in to read the mark on the cam if you get me, try refitting it and or swapping it for another one and see what happens there!
faulty fuel pump , dogey wiring etc etc

Supply 12Vs to the fuel pump directly, then try.
Also, check the earths along the fuel rail.
and the earth from gearbox to chassis leg,
all earths checked, ive supplied the pump diectly, and it runs. wirings perfect as the kid who owns it is a ice fitter. but ecu's confuse him! how do i test the cam sensor?

Find another cam sensor from somewhere to test it i reckon!
yep jay's corsa! the return of the legend!!!! brand new sensors are £7 from andrew rages. cant find a second hand one any where. ill post in parts wanted. any more ideas?

Dodgey cam sensor should still run but in emergency get you home mode if you were driving the car. So in theroy should still start IMO. But still if its only £7 quid to get a new one then what the hey.
Check fuel lines arent weeping/cracked/leaking. Happened to me before.

There has to be an XE in hull somewhere, i know shielas has nowt and i dont think there are any in willinghams (as was) but there has to be one somewhere you can bag one from?
nope, no-ones got one. oh well. does any one else know if another engines one will fit
