has anyone booked a theory test recently ? how early can you book one ? can you say book one a few months in advance ready for your 17th birthday ?

I think you have to give your provisional licence number.

hmm, so what if you had a provisional but that wasnt valid untill a certain date (after a ban for instance) you should be able to book it for the day your license becomes valid, in theory, possibly

Not sure exactly but I think u can book as far in advance as u like - as long as u will be 17 when the test is booked for. U do need ur driving test number to book with tho.

Try booking one - if it has a prob with ur license number it will tell u.

I dont think you need a test number to book one. I see no reason why you cant book one a few months in advance.

You don't have to sit your theory in the closest test centre to you, you might get an earlier test in a centre further away. Something I'll be doing soon..........

my nephew had a privisional licence for a tractor, passed his tractor test, he got his car provisional before his 17th birthday, his mum booked his theory test for his 17th birthday, i think it was booked about 6 weeks in advance. that was last month
