I have an Astra GTE 16v rear disc conversion on my Nova. They are four stud so i would assume they are the same yes. I cant say 100% for sure though. Sorry.

draper

i have an astra GTE set-up on one beam and a calibra set-up on another one and they look the same, the only problems people have with handbrake cables is the lengths, cav MK2 short side rings a bell, try the search feature ;)

no they wont.

calibras use independent rear suspension and the rear brake setup is completely different...

you can use the stuff off mk2 astra, mk3 astra, mk3 cavalier (non-irs) and M-tech make kits to use the mk4 astra rear discs aswell.

vectra rear discs are larger but can be used aswell (bit more effort involved)

Ck, can you explain please as I don't understand.

In my simple mind I see a hub, brake disc and caliper. What's the IRS got to do with it?

Edit: I'm not saying you're wrong I genuinely don't understand. Cheers

Its to do with the way the hub is mounted onto the stub axles whereas the IRS is a different setupetc, i used to have some pics on photobucket showing the differences but deleted them.

Its the same problem with the Cav GSi rear hubs etc, whereas a (mk3) astra sport or Cav diplomat etc is spot on.

Cav V6 5 stud or Vectra. Seeing as the Vectra has IRS I guess the components are entirely different to the Cav IRS setup.

Yes Craig they are different to the Cav/Calibra setup.

If you get a Cav V6 rear beam you can use the brackets whereas if you use the vectra set then you need to buy the adapter plates as the brackets are totally different.

Not really the hubs are quite similar, the discs and callipers are very similar!:thumb:

if your having problems making up or finding a rear 5stud disc setup you can use this...

cavalier v6 rear discs.
vectra 5stud rear hubs
astra/cav ect 4stud rear disc backing plates and handbrake shoes ect
astra/cav/cal ect rear calipers.

or saab 9-3 stuff. i have a set down my makes scrapy yard on a saab still lol

The vectra ones will be fine as long as the handbrake lever is on the top

Graeme
13-05-10, 03:35 PM
No pal iirc the in board shoes are just bigger on the Vec, cav v6 is just what people originally used, mine are vectra but they seem to fit

Shaun
