check the how to section on xe fitting. not hard if your a reasonable mechanic, just use a fitting kit lol the wiring is a little tricky just tap the xe dial feeds into the car loom, feed the fuelpump from the red blue, and dont forget the black switched live near the coil!

Ok sorry, ill start again. Yes it is very difficult, probably even harder than stopping rust on a nova. So i wouldnt bother, just leave it as a mk1 and save yourself weeks of work ;)

the front slam panel on the mk1 doesnt have the slots in the right place for popping the mk2 grill in at the top.

These are bread and butter questions, covered millions of times before

Using the search usually answers your questions, and i find, also you will stumble across other stuff that will answer other questions you may have, but didnt even think of asking!

But i suppose, not using the search gives me something to do!

It's easy to change it mk1 front to mk2 but what's the point? If you want a mk2, go get one. No need to destroy the better looking Novas!

you need to change the wings, headlights, indictaors, grill and bumper, all bolt on/off items and shouldnt take long to do :thumb:

as for staying mk1, if its a base spec model do you what you want with it but if its an SR/GTE then it has to stay as it is imho

The 90 degree bumper angles need swapping too as mk2's are longer.

yeh if i wasnt selling my nova id had plans to mk.1 the front end. it may look a bit weird on a J plate for people in the know, but to me personally u cant beat the original nova look. i think youll regret doing it after a while.

ERM - why be careful of the admin? We only bite if you cause trouble.

Asking a simple question about a Nova isnt a problem - although we do have a great search engine which will find you pretty anything you need. And annoys the feck out of Stoo if not used.

MK1 to MK2 conversion (god I hate people for doing this)

You need (mk2 items)
GSi bumper
mk2 lights and indicators
mk2 lights are smaller so you need the 2 light mounting clips
mk2 grill
you'll need to drill holes and file 4 (iirc) rectangles so the new grill will fit in the slam panel
front bumper bars as mentioned previously
rear bumper - just replace onto existing bar

Most of that stuff bolt off bolt on.

If going the whole hog I believe the loom is slightly different (eg MK1 SR clocks have a different connector to the mk2 versions)
MK2 Dash and glove box
centre console
Steering wheel
and probably mk2 interior depending on what you have just now.

But please - dont do it. You dont see many MK1's about and unless its damaged leave it as is...

ive had 3 mk2s and 1 mk1... but ive never converted to either. I like both equally.
The only reason id covert mine is if i was told (with proof/good reason) the other one was more aerodynamic.
