2.0 8v seh rev limiter

ive got a 2.0 8v seh and my rev limiter is about 6500 which is sh**e as my 1.4sr used to rev till bout 900000000 revs (lol) so i know its capeable of doing it, is there any way i can up the limiter like remapping or any thing??
any suggestions would be greatful

thats because the sr engine did not have a limiter, limiters are there for a reason

yeah i know that the sr didnt have 1 as its on carbs, the meaning was it will rev more but its limited and just wondered if u can raise the limiter??

the 1.4 ohc in the SR dose have a rev limiter (well at least mine did) i'm presuming that it just cut the spark or summing as obviously on a carb, defo had one though as i always used it bounce it of it lol, really good engine when i look back at it, 60 mph in 2nd gear !!

not std they dint,

at around 7800rpm you would start to get valve/cam bounce, which is a wikid sound lol

i'm may be mistaken but i'm sure mine hit the limiter, although it was a Nova Luxe 1.4 so unfortunatley had no rev counter, were the 1.4's 82bhp yeh ? i remember level pegging with a saxo VTR so it wasnt bad for a 1.4 eh.

SRi (c14se) is 82 bhp
SR 1400 carb is about 70 bhp
SPi is 60-65 bhp

there was no rev limiter, it simply ran out of steam at a certain revs ie. no more fuel to chuck in, & the cam dropping off...


ps. Last year, I overtook a 400hp lotus esprit in my L200 pickup in the rain, that must mean my truck had at least 450hp, or it was because the lotus was being driven slowly????

Must have been valve bounce instead of the limiter then hey, i was very suprised it stayed with a VTR actually, it was my mate driving it, we were having a little race, standard VTR vs my 1.4 Luxe with Spax RSX, Sportex backbox and K&N pancake filter that was like 3 years ago, just passed our tests lol, the good old days ha, looking forward to getting her back on the road next year ! (hopefully)
