Was just thinking about my next nova project? not really sure what to do, i have a rebuilt redtop, a v6 and a 1.6 tuned up 8 valve engine, was thinking a track car but which of these engines is best? quite fancy useing the smallblock 1.6 as is easy to work on and can get bits for them easier, i can remember the engine being quick in a nova i had on the road but could it be quick/fun on a track? is it really expensive to build a track nova? thoughts welcome:)

I'd be inclined to use the XE, even against a tuned 1.6 - as you said, its rebuilt so should be relatively reliable, or ready to tune more. Come to think of it, sell the 1.6 and V6 (the latter to me :D) and use the profits to buy good suspension/brakes or tune the XE :D

you couldent afford the 1.6 lol and i am going to do a v6 nova soon so keeping that aswell got it at a bargain price, maybe use the xe but smallblocks handle better i feel and i reckon the 1.6 was no slower than a standard xe:confused:

i have heard a few people are, but none around here, theres a mint 1.0 2 door saloon in scrapyard:( was not happy when i seen it in there, they wouldent let me buy it either:mad:
