Right, i gotta mk1 nova sr. I've uprated the rear speakers to alpines and want to do the same to the front...only had a real quick look at it and looks like it's guna be a pain in the a$$ to do...
How do you get to the front speakers to change them?

MK1's are simple, maybe some fiddling about but nothing difficult.
No need to take the dash out. 10cm items wil fit no problem. Best to stick some good quality mid and high frequency speakers to get good clarity and frequency range.
For the pasenger side remove the glove box ( with the glovebox door open; two screws up by the latch and two screws outside at the bottom of the glove box ) hey presto access to the speaker.
For the drivers side you need to have a good view of the underside of your dash maybe get yourself looking up from the drivers footwell. With a long enough screwdriver you can remove it. Theres that method, or, if you got a ghetto spec Nova then you can remove the side panel on the dash where you heater vent would normally go. If you got a vent there then remove the clocks to gets ome hand access. Removing the headlamp swith may also aid in you getting your hand to the back of the clocks. A combination of the above mentioned methods also works lol
Done.

lol cracked myself up whilst tying that as its what I have, no side vents in my Nova lol. Cant see the 'Merit' in not having side vents, why call it a 'Merit'?
At least it came with a stereo hey :D

i thought about doing this too, the left side speaker looks piece of piss but the right hand one is hard and my mk1 clocks dont seem to want to come out unless i unplug the speedo cable from the gearbox, so what size are the fronts?

As above 10cm.
You may need to get your hand up behind the clock and try unplug the speedo cable which is quite difficult or pull some of the speedo cable so you get more slack inside the car. Then when you lift the bottom of the clocks up the extra tension helps to pop them out.
