I have a 1200 engine it has got a 1.3sr Sport Cam and K&N.

i want more power but dont want to pay for 2litre conversion.

i am looking at a 1.3sr or 1.4 sr engine (has to be carb cant be arsed with ECU loom)

what is the best and easyiest way to more power.

The only thing I can say with any certainty is that a 'standard' 1.4SR engine is fairly Quick, as a new driver I'd be dangerous with much more power.

Check out www.novarally.co.uk he has complete engines ready to drop in for less than ?100. Get yourself a 1.6 GTE lump with all ancilleries for ?100. Sorted!

1300 engine shouldnt be too bad to insure will it????? if the insurance is too bad just stick with the 1.2 till u can afford a bigger engine

It all comes down to who, what and where your insuring.

1.4's arn't too bad I can't see 1.3's being far away from them.

remember if u stick to a 1.2 the insurance will be lower meaning you can save more money for when you have a couple of years NCB :)
