View Full Version : 1.0-1.4
this christmas i might be looking at changeing to a slightly bigger engine, but not a Xe as im only 17, :P but will have 1 oneday, i was just woundering what sort of things il need to change, im looking for a dizzy engine, cant be doing with an injection engine, as that would be abit more work, and i wouldnt have a clue how to do it. as the 1.0 is solid but not great performance wise :P, and i want something that will easily keep up with my mates 1.4 bravo. would it have any trouble? lol
and any info about doing the transplant would be good to know :thumb:

SR engine? 1300 or 1400 carb fed unit? Both are 8v engines but with a few tweaks can be alot of fun.
Have a look in the articles section for tuning ideas/pointers.

if I'm right them bravo only have 80 hp so a well maintained and tweaked 1.4 sr engine will have you pissing all over your mate for not to much money
Yeah that would be the one im after 1.4sr 8v i think, so it shouldnt be to much to change over, would anyone know a rough price guess to how much it would be for parts/engine and what else i would need?
cheers for the replys you 2
the engine is a straight swap, the wiring is a bit of a pain, cos you must trace the coil wire back to the ign barrel & change it for a new plain one.. the original is a resistor wire & is unique to the 1.0

Have a look in the parts for sale section to get an idea of prices. Should just need loom ecu, engine box, shafts etc.
Just to point out, the insurance will be the same whatever engine. But You may be doing what ive done, a 1.4 so its less on tax.
You need a driver's side engine mount from an ohc Nova aswell.
Sometimes you get away without replacing the coil wire.
