iv tried this before

but the rear fell out when some **** crashed in the back, lol i know it would not stop in there with a crash

but after about 500miles the front cracked and started to fall out :roll:

i keyed and cleaned the surface be for using the fibreglass and filler,

but am i missing something ? that will make it says forever lol

try screwing mesh into the bits so it gets a good key to the bumper im no expert but its a start.

Prob is your filling a deep recess with a fiber glass thats harder than the bumper..
So if the bumper moves the filler wont. So it will crack out as they move differently.

Your best bit is to plastic weld in some plastic, just a lil off the surface that you can then skim over with a more flexible fiber glass (theres a black fiber glass made by smg iirc that is for cars and boats that is more flexible, i used it on mine)

This way if the bumper bends the plastic move with the bumper, and tyhe fiber glass will make any left over move ment, then a small skim of filler or stopper and you should be ok.

Added in a small metal brace to the inside will help reduse an flex in the bumper too.

im half way through smoothing my rear mk1 bumper, but leaving the towing eye hole, and the exhaust bit, il pop it on and take a pic
but remember im still half way through lol
