Dodgy Gearbox

Hi all,

I have just got a blue Nova 1.3 SR and find that when I start of Driving some gears will just not go. When slowing down to 1st it is had to get into and 3rd all the time plays up only one the car has been going for a while it goes fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is. Is is common?

My 1.2 Merit was the same at first - when it was cold it would do that... then warm up and it was fine.

All of a sudden, without me really noticing it was getting any better it didn't do it anymore. I was confused, yet still quite pleased. I didn't ever find out what it was though.

i have the same prob with 1st + 3rd once it warms up it is gr8 but until then it is a right little git to get in. did u 2 have over 100k on the clock? might be a common prob that comes with age. just wear and tear.

no mate - my merit only had 33k on it when i got it.
and by the time i got it to about 50k it had stopped.

The Oil in the box needs time to circulate, a low level of oil could be your problem.
