Do you work on the rigs ben? 23:00 is a ruff time to start! will you finish at 7? and also, what time do you stop for something to eat? and do you eat breakfast or tea at the odd time! sorry for all the questions lol just never though about night shifts before!

I work till half 5 everyday and im bored to :cry: because its been soooo quiet for the last five or so months!

I work whatever hours im told for the same money no overtime pay etc, i went to work on tuesday for 30 minutes and get paid 8 hrs, weds worked about an hour and last night 2 hours, tonight dont know as its a new place so dont know what to expect, got it again Monday + Tuesday.

This job is inside an oven on a petrol chemical site so its going to be dirty as fook.

Never stop for food or drink, the quicker we work the quicker we finish.

Thats because theres hardly anything to do as a lot of people knock off early on a friday and plus youre waiting for clock off time so you can play out for the weekend!

They are isotopes of Iridium 192, Inside the casing is a small 5mm metal pill which is radioactive, ours get charged to 60ci which is quite strong, there is no gas or liquid etc.

We connect a long pipe with metal coil in and wind it out into a lead a tube and the radiation goes through the object and leaves an image on some film behind the weld etc then we develop the film and look for imperfections in the weld or base material etc.

No x ray machines are elctrical and need a power source to work, and can be turned on and off, those bombs are live and cant be switched off, they decay but always live.
