How can i tell the difference between an early xe and a late xe engine
thanks anthony
The early have a dizzy and the late hve a coilpack
early cream injectors and late blue.
There is also a difference on the cambelt cover. The late ones have an extra curve, but it's usless without piccys.

That's a late coilpack model. What's it in a cav?

Thats a dis pack engine. Note the black plastic unit on the side of the head. That is a late spec addition i *think*

£300?
Not that it really matters. It could have lunched itself, in which case doesnt matter how cheap you got it
I presume you've heard it running?
Cocast really isnt anything special.
No I know. Always a bonus though if you've bag a cheap'un and find it's got one on.

£150 is a very good price, best to hear it running tho. That way you know its not a bag o crap.
Yeah i'd try and get it running, and up to temp, before you rip it out.

even if it aint running it will be when im finished and to be honest its a risk most people take when buying an engine that is out of the car so for £150 i aint gonna complain evan if it aint running now
Not hearing it running wouldnt put me off either.
