Im starting to do mobile as i have enough equipment and i could be making even more monies doing weddings and the such, most of my music is garage and house and i cant see many people at weddings wanting to listen to that so could you give me a list of the sort of songs that would be acceptable at a wedding/older function :thumb:

Play some 80s cheese and stick the odd thrash metal track or suchlike in lol

Depends on the audience tbh. Some younger couples may prefer some dance music. I'd say make up a few track lists in different styles of music and then you can give the customer a choice as to what they want played.

A different way of doing it... at my mates wedding in december, the bride and groom have asked for each guest to write down 2 songs of their choice. They then pass this on to the DJ and hopefully enough songs will have been chosen to fill the night. Makes your life abit easier.

Look out for a local record fair or keep an eye out for anyone one selling up their DJ stuff in local freeads etc. Usually a load of records FS in our local one.

Aswell as the obvious, theres always requests from old folk for 60's & 70's aswell swing & waltz etc. (been to a few bad parties in my time)

I have to say I envy you though, doing DJ work has appealed to me for years but never put the effort or funds into it.

Great way to meet chicks when you are young too, doing all those 18th birthdays & weddings etc.

I think aswell, once the drink is flowing and everyone is in that party mood, as long as its a good song everyone will have a boogie!!

Well, it does for me lol
