.. for the first time since the 6th of June lol

Bit of background info.. those who have read my WIP will know i had a bike accident on the 7th of June.

Hit a tractor whilst out on my bike :( . An 8 hour operation to fix my leg and nearly 2 weeks in hospital followed.

Injuries: one snapped left femur (my fooot was by my head!) fractured bones in my left wrist and hand and messed up my left knee. My teeth went through my bottom lip and tongue aswell.

I have a metal rod full length of the bone with three screws and had a full length plaster cast on my left hand/forearm. My knee i had to wait for it to heal naturally.

Pic whore time lol....

Bike damage wasnt major. Mainly fairings. Sold on eBay in its damaged state for nearly £800!! Happy days!

My kermit plaster cast!

My leg after my operation. I'm normally a skinny bugger so this is massivley swolen!!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v310/Pete_58/Bike%20Accident/LegBrace.jpg

My leg brace. I had to wear this for nearly 4 months. Its well travelled. It came to Cyprus with me on holiday lol along with my crutch!

So after over 5 months of sitting around, going to hospital for check ups and physio, i return to work. Going to be a massive struggle. I work for Honda on shifts so a 5am :( start is going to be murder!!

Wish me luck! lol

Hope they go easy on you when you start again and remember dont push yourself too hard when you start back as you dont wanna re-damage yourslf!

lol @ Riggy, cheers!

meritlover, i took the brunt of the impact so the bike was spared!! It was mostly cosmetic. And yes sv's are great. Was my first bike and i loved riding it.

yes, bones heal, but bikes will not. better to hurt yourself than hurt your bike.

a bike will not fix its self.

no doubt a set of race fairings and itl be on the track with the new owner.

Bikes can be replaced, you however can not so i totally disagree with your comments tbh!

Fraid not bud, soft tissue and bone damage never quite heals properly, i tore all the ligaments in my left ankle when i was in my teens and the quadracep (sp) muscle in my right thigh a few years ago, and they ache like a mofo in the winter so ya will find it will ease up as time goes on but will never quite go away though:(

I dont think it will quite be that bad again bud lol

But you will find niggly aches and pains especially through the cold months.....

Hmmmm see "cold months" read "January to december in this country"

I got my left leg mashed up back in 95, but on the plus side, I did remove a mk3 escort from the road......

you will be advised to get some thermals & use them.

also get stuff like cod liver oil & glucosamine tablets. they help.

you were lucky to survive a tractor crash. twenty odd years back, I worked as the junior parts man at a busy tractor dealer. the worst job I got was writing parts lists for crashed tractors. when a motorbike was involved, I used to use a pointy stick to poke body parts out from the shaft guards etc. I remember one where a 900 kawasaki hit a 100hp 4wd tractor at over a ton.
the front axle was bent round 45 degrees (not bad for a 8" diameter casting), the block was shattered & the gearbox housing was like a smashed egg. we found a tub full of bits that got sent to the coroner....

iv got 3 pins in my knee due to my old bike, was coming down the road, some 12 year old on a push bike tried to overtake me, and cut straight across me and stopped, i slammed the brakes on and went down, broke my knee, but there was that much adrenaline, i pushed the bike of me, took my helmet off, threw it at the kid, and processed to deck him, then i fell to the ground crying like a little girl lol

mowgli, i have been told by many people i'm a lucky chappie. The copper at the scene was talking to my dad and was gob smacked when he heard i was in an air ambulance on my way to hospital!

lol @ GB, throwing your helmet in anger!! Top man! Adrenaline is goood. I knew i had a broken leg, my foot up by my ear was a give away lol, but no real pain till i got to A+E!!
