Having seen one for sale on ebay....
Do these actually fetch money now??
I put about 6 of them in the skip this weekend with around 3 inlet manifolds lol

Can't see why they should fetch anything. They were common as muck on any 1300/1400 & 1600 8v carb'd OHC engines.

Like all things, when they become scarce, someone will always want one for an obscene amount of money. Not worth stockpiling IMO.

I thought the 2e3 was used on 1200s? Or was that something else... I know the 1.0 used a weber carb (1b1?)...

The 2e was the 1.2 iirc the 2e3 was the 1.3/1.4 SR jobbie, also found on 1300 golfs aswell:thumb:

doesn't the 2 in 2e stand for the twin choke. Pretty sure 1.2s are single chokes.

1Bs were on early sr's later mk1 sr's have the twin choke. So im assuming later 1200s would use the twin choke as well?

Again, only worth something when they're hard to come by.

Serve em right for buying it on fleabay.

Correct info on the SR being upgraded to the 2E3 in late 85.

Sounds about right then as my 85 sr was an early one with the 1b1 carb.
