Eveing again folk, just a quick one.

I've had a look through the search and google etc regarding this but i thought i would put it to yourselves to.

Maybe thinking of saving some cash and paint my car myself, but anyone got some hint and tips, i know that the prep is the worst part in this all. but im not afraid to get my hands dirty.

Now its not a show car and its going to get used and abused, and a nice simple colour in white, so what would be best 2k?

One i found on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/5L-2K-Gloss-Paint-Kit-Ford-Diamond-White-Activator_W0QQitemZ260263085889QQcmdZViewItem?hash =item260263085889&_trkparms=72%3A1301|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A12|240%3A13 18&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/5L-2K-Gloss-Paint-Kit-Ford-Diamond-White-Activator_W0QQitemZ260263085889QQcmdZViewItem?hash =item260263085889&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C 240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14)

I would recomend practicing on something first. Whats the worst that can happen? you make a bad job. just rub it down and start again.

Only tip i have is sweep the area out well and put plenty of water down on the floor.

If you have a compressor and a workshop your laughing really. Get a gun and practice on some scrap first. Get used to different gun settings etc. Then spray away. Not forgetting breathing apparatus though!

And post some pics up of your handy work!

As above buy a cheapo HVLP gun and get some practice :)

BTW You'll also need some 2k thinners to go with that paint.

Give it ago, if you cock it up then you have to pay a spray shop to do it. If it goes well, you've saved a packet. You won't get no stunning results but you should get something half decent if you have an idea of what to do

give it ago, put a sheet up in the workshop above your car to help stop ant crap getting into paintwork:thumb:
