can this be done ? lol
I've done it with a bit of flat bar in the back of the lock pointing upward and a wire type solenoid, I found the central locking actuators didn't have enough power to open it. I've got no pictures unfortunately

Saloony has one on his. You have to reduce the spring tension otherwise the boot does fly open as mentioned earlier.

No, there's not enough strength in just one spring. I'll find a pic of how I reduced the tension in mine.

Just a flat piece of steel with a series of holes to vary the tension on one side.
why is it the simple solutions work the best. ive just been having thoughts of retro fitting a damper

Yeah, one let go in my first saloon, though someone had fired a shotgun at the car. I stopped further up the road and walked round the car to see what hit the car, then found out it was a boot spring.
Loving the retro fit idea Shaun, that idea is definately getting stolen

I have a boot popper that came with my central locking kit, and I have no idea how to attach the solanoid to the boot lock itself.
Looking at the lock there is a bit I can see that turns with the key, but I cant see anywhere to attach the bar from the solonoid so it will release the lock.
There doesn't seem to be any part of the mechanism that pulls open, just turns!
Please help, this is really pissing me off!!
Thanks

I just took out the original pin that went through frmo the lock to the hole and put an L piece of metal with a hole for the solenoid to pull on, Worked a treat
