I didn't say Rhythm and Blues, its name was invented as a replacement for 'Race' or 'Negro' music in pre-civil rights movement America to make it appear better & more sellable to white people...

Jools' sound is much earlier, maybe 40's with the whole big band/lindy hop/honky tonk/ boogie woogie type thing, I saw them in leicester some years back & it was a fine night out.

The problem is with this r &b is that they're not actually musicians, they might think that sampling here and there and adding some beat that they coughed up on cubase and then looped into the mix is talent, but they are wrong..

These twerps nowadays can get away with it as the standard of music has dropped so much over the last decade, and the record companies know that the general public will buy any old crap as long as they chuck a fit bird into the music video!

the reason a band tours schools is because their management actually pay the schools for the privilege of playing their in an effort to get the kids to buy the music, it is a simple commercial tactic, that has been going on for decades, when I was at school, bands were booked.....

this weekend, Hinckley had its annual christmas street fair, with some decent rides... This year, the families disappeared quite quickly & by 8pm it was 95% chav gangs prowling round acting hard....
there was even a crowd of about 100 waiting round the punchbag to see who was hardest....
I have never seen so much acne & teacosy hats....

I wasn't scared though because the community support officers were there..................

non of the chavs had the money to go on the dodgems so my daughters & me had some fun. Is there a dole crunch as well at the moment??
