I haven't got a clue what i do? I travel roughly 1mile to work and back, do this 6 times a week and the odd long distance trip (south east to north) i dont pointlessness drive around all evening so what would my annual millage be? :thumb:

My policy has an 8k limit i think.

Say 10k for arguments sake?!

6k would probably do it, if your doing fook all miles all week.

Ive always said about 6k on mine but tbh I dont think the insurers will ever know what mileage you do.

Most ask what mileage your car is on when you take out the policy ;)

Thtas what I mean, they ask what mileage you do but wont know if you go over it.

They will if you crash and they send an assessor to check the car......

I've never been asked for mileage. However they can check on the MOT.

Of course you changed the dials as your old ones broke and you didn't know how to amend the mileage ;)

TBH if you don't keep a record of mileage (I do for fuel usage etc) then just look at your MOT certs. Remember, most companies ask you for an ESTIMATE, so you can give them that. If you then go over it, just ring them up and say so.

Average mileage is 12k pa btw.

Ive never stated more than 10k on my normal policies, I would imagine i do a lot more but as ive never been asked to check and I change cars so often its never come to be an issue.

I did get my Nova insured ltd mileage (3k) to get a good price. they ask for proof then (MOTs, photos etc etc) but if I was ever to over shoot they just add an extra to your premium (somthing semi sensible like £5 per 100 miles IIRC)

Nova is at 6,000, Xsara was 10,000. I need to call them and up it as it now my daily.

I do 20K pa in the vx lol... 16K of that is pure commuting. And going off a lot of peoples milage from various industries I'd have to say that 15K is more likely to be the average for most people these days. Hell the astra hit 13K just trundeling to the station and back daily and the odd weekend drive that wasnt excessive.

I did something daft like 25k in the first year on the Celica.

From a 1.2 nova to a 2.0T celica. My fuel bill went upwards lol
