...how do you deal with it?

I can't make myself calm down right now, but I'm usually a really laid back person.

Same here, really laid back till some **** on the road gets under my skin and all hell breaks lose - theres no horns blaring, lights or hand signals. It's not very clever but it gets the message across at the time.... then you reliese your as bad as them.

road rage is all about bruised egos.. either avoid upsetting someone by driving like a vicar, or if you are going to drive in a more forceful manner, make sure you don't hang about long enough to see the other persons reaction...

i was driving along in my transit and the boy in front was driving in the middle of the two lanes so i had the go wide to pass him. he flashed the lights and held the horn on so rage made me slam on the brakes as i done nothing wrong.

I was driving like a vicar until aggravated :(. I was doing 30 in a 30 and was tailgated, so I braked and then sped back up to 30, cue tooting of the horn and more tailgating from behind, this continues for 4 miles until I stopped got out and told her to back the f**k off. She tried to tell me I'd be liable if she'd hit me. I can't believe the stupidity of some people.

I've had that before Dan, female driver really close behind, hit the brakes a few times, she didnt take the hint so i stopped and leaned out the window and shouted to her to back off, maybe a silly thing to do but i was p**sed off at the time!

Also hate people who sit in the outside lane of a dual carriageway for no reason, had one car that didnt seem keen to move, after blasting the horn a bit, flashing lights and indicators, they eventually pulled into the left lane and let me past :D

Yes, i can be a bit of an a**e when stupid drivers annoy me lol

i did the same thing to a guy in a jag behind me once
to the point i got out the car, and threatened to stab him in his face ith the key i was thrusting in his face if he didnt back off

he called the police

im in anger management now!

When i get tailgated i deliberately go slower than the speed limit.

I once followed a woman home after she cut me up, well, she pulled out infront of me, so me being annoyed, followed her, overtook her and cut in sharp, then she didnt indicate at the roundabout, so i went straight on, she went left, so i turned round and went after her, when she stopped at her house, she came over to me and threatened me with a garden rake lol Then later on i got a phonecall from the police saying i should have just reported her, as if they'd actually do anything if i did report it

to cure road rage - simple

stay off the road. Or at least until youve calmed down.

Road rage is mental - not worth the heart attack.

When i get tailgated i deliberately go slower than the speed limit.

Same here usually, I did for the latter part of this ordeal. After my outburst I did about 5mph for 400m until I turned off to drop the better half off.

I'm equally hacked off with myself for getting out of the car as I am with her for being a silly dangerous bint. I was careful not to threaten anything or go within 6 feet of the car but the red mist came down. Usually the brakes treatment gets the message accross. Even if I had remembered to note her registration the police wouldn't have done a thing. I feel angry but helpless at the same time. There is no course of action that just solves the problem.

I had a bloke carve me up on a roundabout a few nights ago, doing the old 'Oh its one of those slow 4x4 L200 pickups, he won't mind if I shoot up the turn right lane & overtake him'.....I did mind as I gunned it off the roundabout & he struggled to pass me.. I followed him at a reasonable speed & noticed his right back light was out... he turned off the bypass & I followed him, he turned up his road & I followed him, he stopped outside his house, so did I... he finally climbed out after a long pause, & I wound down my window & told him about his light.... he'd been shaking up till that point... I didn't need to shout or hit, he knew damned well he was in the wrong

i once had some tit in a bmwfly up behind me all lights blazing (i'd just set off from traffic lights on a dual carriageway and there was traffic on the inside, ) i gave a few hand gestures backwards and pulled in when i could. he pulled in front, stamped on the anchors, then sped off. two miles later he's stopped on a sliplane to go right, the way i was going and i was the next car behind him, so as i pulled up i whacked my lights on full beam and left them on. me being in a little nova and him being in a bmw, he's obviously more of a man, so he jumps out of his car and makes for me. when i step out at 6"2, 16 stone and in a foul mood anyways he stopped walking. i made a comment of "if you want to flash your lights at me, i'll flast my fcuking lights at you...". he replied, "uhh, ha ha get a better car mate" jumped in his bimmer and sped off through a red light. methinks i won the battle there...

other than that, i just like to point out peoples mistakes in the safety of my own car

I'm usually quite placid, but people driving like retards really winds me up, ESPECIALLY on motorways/dual carriageways. Thankfully I'm restrained enough to just cuss them a bit and leave them to it; usually its just quiet disappointment of how some people don't have a clue how to use the roads properly.

Case in point, A34 yesterday. Captain Bling of the good ship Range Rover was sat in the outside lane at 65mph, over taking a line of slow traffic. I queue up behind him, the usual 2 kangaroo gap, but he still doesn't move back in once he's past the traffic. He must have noticed me behind him, as all of a sudden he jumps back to the inside lane, then as soon as I pass, moves straight back to the outside lane! FFS

I ram people that cut me up then claim on there insurance. Simple, yet muchos effective.

With regards to tailgating, anchor up ye old brakes, come to a stop, approach them, yank keys out of there ignition and proceed to launch them in whatever direction there car isnt facing. Although this^ is a risky manuvoure, the other one is chuck things out your window at there car. That works a treat.

She tried to tell me I'd be liable if she'd hit me. I can't believe the stupidity of some people.

And she would be correct.

If you 'Brake test' someone (ie it can be proven you didnt not brake for availd reason) and someone runs in to the back of you, YOU can be done for driving without due-care.

Trust me, ive looked in to this alot!

Yeah but thats the fast lane jack! Didnt you know that!

The highway code salls it an overtaking lane, but we all know its not!

I could have partially understood it IF he was going fast, but I've seen continents move faster than that Range Rover

i think one of the funniest storys ive ever heard was off a bloke whos house my mate was doing up, used to be a bit of a well known bloke back in teh day etc, head bouncer round the town where he lived, hes telling my mate about how big he was and said ill go get some pics... hour later comes back

"found them pictures, **** me, id forgotten how much ofa big **** i actually was" <shows mate pictures> he goes "haha thats just reminded me, "one day i went to pick up my little uns, pulled into a road and cut up a corner and madea car full of lads slam on, so i carried on driving, stopped at a traffic light, checked my rear view, and saw this car screaming back down the road in reverse. so took the belt of jumped out, 5 lads jump out the car and just look at me so i said "can i help you ladies? didnt think so, F#CK OFF" off they went haha

Yep, stopped me from doing it... sort of, now i just do it when theres a que of traffic, some lights coming up or a pedestrian looking to cross, then you can claim a vaild reason for emergency stopping ;)

A sudden, sharp stop will probably end up as a 50/50 though :(

Plus you'd then have that accident on your record.

Some examples of bad driving here. Just because other drivers FAIL to use the road properly, does not mean we have to retaliate.

I agree with jack on the motorway one i was comingback down the A15 from scunny with martin on sat and there was a woman in a clio in front of me in the outside lane, she wasnt doing 70 so i didnt slow down till i was two secs behind her when she finally saw me and shifted, once i had passed she went back out and stayed put in the outside lane, as i turned off for the humber bridge she was still there and forced a long wheelbase van to pass her on the inside as she either wouldnt move or plain didnt look and see him there!

Also bus lanes seem to get the same use, the highway code states "keep left at all times" and theyre only bus lanes into town in a morning and out of town on an evening, read the signs and the road you useless tossbags!
Rant over! lol

Not at all, unless proven that there was no good reason to stop there is rarely any argument for the person hitting rear. when ever ive had accidents that are '3rd party hit in the rear' situations the insurance companies wont even flinch at saying instant 100% favour for the car/driver that was hit in rear.

The road leading to my estate is a 30 limit so I do 30, the number of people that come up behind me and sit inches from my bumper or overtake me is unreal. Granted it's a wide road but there's a school really close by and a couple of paths where you can cross the road, I've had a dog run out in front of me (whilst I was doing 30 I might add) and it scares the **** out of you.

I just ignore it usually or when I get to the roundabout or turning to my estate slow down without the use of brakelights.

Pisses me right off especially as my cat was run down on the road.

Seriously considering asking the police if they'll put a mobile gun there for a day soon.

People who don't move over on motorways etc though winds me up sooo much. I'll give them a chance but otherwise I will just undertake them. Not big or clever but once you've flashed indicated etc what else can you do??

People stopping in slip lanes joining duel carrigeways pisses me off, or people that dont move over and make it akward.

Mainly people going slow that wind me up, usually nissan micras being driven by some old woman that cant see over the steering wheel.

Taigating is annoying too, usually some sort of bmw. Enjoy planting it if they try overtaking :) Would understand it, but i dont exactly drive slow..
