surely some 4.5/5" coax would fit good sir?

what sound you after? just generel music? or have you thought of slipping a couple of cheeky tweeters in for good measure!

If you put speakers there they will catch on the window when you wind it down.

worst place to put speakers, unless you listen as well as talk out your arse.

put them up front. not only will they not clash with wondows, but they will have a more direct path to your ear.

I got half way thru building mine b4 the car got written off, this is where i got to.

Your would need to be smaller if you were to retain manul windows, but they are based on 6" speakers so it would be easy to slim them down.

Just be normal and put them in the bottom left side, just above the plastic tray bottom. Fine there and they dont catch anything.

But they will be aiming directly into the side of the seat.
If you want sound in the rear, fit some rears......

Put them at the front and dont kick them. Best for fit, best for sound.

And fit elec windows and you wont have to worry about winders...

Yes. Fit them as pictured above. Door pockets will prevent you kicking them. And they will give the best sound there.

I have speakers placed there too (last owner decided it was a great place). I got 13cm ones with a big magnet on the back with no catching problems on the winder mechanism.

BUT... as its been mentioned its as good as not putting any speakers there as they will be blocked by the side of the seats and you wont hear much.

Best place is at the bottom corner of the door card, footwell side with some door pods.

yeay they fitted perfect withh no catching. then i got another nova with electric windows and they are in the front and you do notice the diffrence

The BEST place is as close to ear level as possible. the higher up the door you can fit them the better sound imaging you will get.
Its a shame the standard dash fitments wont allow any bigger than 3.5-4 inch as they are in an ideal place for speakers.

With a hidden pair you can put them a bit higher in the door like i have...

i just uprated the standard speakers in the dash with some components, as loggy says, best place for them, run some new and decent speaker wire and they will be enough imo.

MC also had some uprated ones in the dash of his old 1400 and they sounded pretty good IRC (It was at least 6 years ago lol)

The quality i get from these speakers is brilliant! point straight towards you, so high freq is crystal clear :). Do tend to get kicked abit tho lol!

The context I said it in was best place in terms of ease of fit. Yes its better to have them slightly higher but the window mechanism wont allow for that, well not as high as we'd like it. Which is why car manufacturers still tend to stick speakers in doors at lower positions (tend to be lower frequency able speakers) to clear door mechanisms and will either have a tweeter in the dash, near the door handle on in the A pilar directed to you.

Im assuming that dash speakers will be used? If so stick some good tweeters in there or something for high frequency on a high pass filter maybe using some crossovers as at that frequency sound is more directional and deffo needs to be at a higher level or pointing at you. Tweeters or high freq. sounds in low areas wont be heard. The lower the frequncy the more options you have of putting them lower as low frequency sound will still be heard.

They will be heard a lot better if they are put towards the inner part of the doorcard rather then facing the side of your seat.

i had to fit my speakers here because i just couldnt get the speakers to fit at the front of the door without plasmacutting the door, but i would put the speakers at the front if you can
but hey i'm happy where mine are and it was only a 30min bodge anyway
