just wondering if this can be done....
instead of me buying a conversion kit for £60 of ebay is it possible for me to use my original wipers/motors
but instead change the linkage to a longer one so it will have more "sweep"
and put a longer wiper blade on?
and then re-align the wiper so its sitting just offset to the middle of the windscreen?
has anyone tried this or no if it can be done?
im on a budget an think of stuff in my head lol
any comments are helpfull cheers
Yes, it involves cutting/welding the std linkage iirc.
Dont know anymore than that.

just wondering if my thoughts could be done lol...
right im on a budget and always have ideas floating around as to "make do"
i want a single wiper conversion on my nova and think its possible to use the original wiper/ motor on my car
basically if i was to replace the wiper blade with a longer one and put on a longer linkage it should have more "sweep"?
and then adjust the wiper so it sits just offset to the middle of my windscreen i should get enough wiper sweep?
anyone done this before or have any ideas?
thanks

As an example: Once when my dads Cav linkage arm snapped for the drivers wiper so he only had usage of the passenger wiper arm.
For a breif period I moved the passenger wiper so that it rested in a higher position, about 20% from rest i.e enough for the passenger to see over the wiper. When wipers where used it would wipe from one side to the other in a semi circle shape. It covered pretty much most of the windscreen.
That was using stock equipment.
If you want it to actually rest in its normal position then mods to the linkage arm would be needed.
Although this is probably not the best way just gives you an idea of scope.
Why have you started another thread?

oof ! that bumper looks furkin orrible, get it sprayed quick !
roller some dulux on it, anything lol
Replace that Bumper with the Black/Grey GET or SR item please.
Loving the park position of the wiper, I'm sure occifer dibble might have something to say about that. I got a right telling off for mine being perfectly centred in the screen even with the sweep being correct (drivers side first). That just looks like your wipers have packed in to me
