Meh, he could have blagged that saying whats written on facebook cannot be construed as hard evidence.

Dunno what Oz law is like, but I'm pretty sure over here you can't demand a sick note unless you've had at least 7 days absence (inc weekends).

Aussie law allows a certain number of 'free' sickie days

there was a fail I heard on the radio once where some kid rang to report his mobile stolen, & the call handler pointed out how come he was calling on that number to report it!!!!!!!

That's classic.
A friend of mine pulled a sickie to go to Alton Towers with us a couple of months ago, then the next day loads of pictures appeared on facebook of all the rides, quite clearly labelled with the date. Doh...
