Idles Perfectly but as you drive it splutters............

i've got a r8 problem with car... well i think so neway.

When i start my car it idles fine then as i accelerate it makes a wierd noise and dies. When i change gear its fine again and then get upto similar revs it starts again......

Car is a 1.4SR with sports cam and twin choke pierburg....

I had a similar problem and my fuel jets were blocked

its prob gonna be wither the dizzy or carb settings.

How longs it been doing it and what did youdo (if anything ) prior to it doing it.

Check dizzy cap/leads. Clean carb or stick some additive in a full tank of fuel

I had a sort of similar problem, mine was lacking power all the time tho, got a mechanic to check it out, he said the vacuum unit thing on the top of the dizzy was knackered.
Someone more mechanically minded people may be able to explain how to check if its this or not, but im crap at that sort of thing. sorry, jsut a suggestion anyway

check yer timing too - if out too much will suck performance quicker than any high price hooker could ever do!
