View Full Version : which models were which
OK guys,
I'm looking for some advice. Hopefully in the next couple of months I'll be buying my next project car but I'd like to know which models there are for which mk.
E.G - what models came under mk1 and what models came under mk2
MK1 = 1.0, 1.3sr, 1.6GTE etc
MK2 = 1.2 merit (carb), 1.2 merit + (spi), 1.6 gsi etc
Please feel free to start the ball rolling and copy/paste results to save time.
I'd like to know whats out there...
OH - and please indicate whether saloon, 3/5 door, etc...
And...given the choice which would you choose as a project car and why - I'm after something with a little oomph under the hood but not too much (yet).

ade m8 the best thing you can do is get yourself over to rich.dales site at www.novabug.co.uk
it goes through the history of the nova, so basically, read all the models and engine sizes upto a point where the mk2 came out, and then contiue to read for that likewise
i know itll take longer than looking at a straight list, but its very interesting and also says all the variations between the models

If you can't find it there try doing an online insurance quote they list all models of all cars.

Does the 1.4 have the same interior as the 1.4SR?
No mate the sports interiors were only on the sports range.
Get a 1.4 SRi...fantastic cars

Get an SR, good ol' fashioned carburation.
The SR had colour coded knobs and switches, white dials, smarter seats and a different steering wheel to the rest of the 1.4 range.
do what fester says m8 sri's are so much fun plus no carb/winter hassle more economical, nice interior etc and massive induction note! :o

1400 sri is the daddy (this side of a GSI n e way) IMO. has a good sound engine. quite fast, sports interior and the oldest ones u can get are j reg. + there is an induction kit made specifically for them (u dont have to faff on like with the spi's) and best of all u can laff at all the corsa SRI owners when u beat them with your standard engine :D surely worth gettin one just for that.
