I was going to buy a Cat C but, i dont have time. I just want to be able to get into somthing drive it to work and thats it job done.

I'm doing 6days a week and then have the mrs to keep happy at the same time. If i got somthing nice and daily with the nova sat on my mums drive i can play with it when shes at work and im bored etc. I did this a while ago with the xsara and it turned into a track slag thing pmsl i just cannot be trusted with cars.

If i got the clio i would want to change the front seats straight away as they are too high, awesom cars tho pretty nippy and excellent on fuel. But i would then end up stripping it and getting pissed off with it for being too loud lol i just cant helpmyself.

If you can find me a decent 6G72T powered GTO for £2k, let me know!!

Maintenance is an uber-pain on them though, electric everything and its all crammed in there. 100% functional ones seem to be rare...

I want an early UK spec Mk2 with the 6speed box and a '99 facelift front end though :D

you can have a lovely mr2 turbo if you can do a deal with that nova of urs :)

Stunning car Ernie.

i just this second got back in after picking my vectra GSi M.S.D Estate up. lovely cars tbh, goes very well for a big car, not too bad on petrol, used about £20 to get from bristol to plymouth (about 130miles)

I take it you're not too keen on Vecs then? lol

Ill put a vote in for the Volvo's as well. I cant fault my 2.5, its just a lil bit thirsty. Ill probably be getting shot of it in a month or so cos im getting the Transit and the Viito back on the road :)

Mike
25-10-08, 11:11 AM
Vec GSi's are very nice cars TBH. Me & my Brother in Law managed to get his down to 8mpg when toe'ing it down the M4 though!

Adam
25-10-08, 11:42 AM
If you dont need the space of an estate, i wouldn't bother with one tbh.

And i have to say Clio 172s are a bargain buy atm. Seen some 51plate ones up for about £2200, quite quick etc, but there group 16/17 insurance, so might be quite a jump in cost over a 1l nova,Lol. And if you ever fancied a bit of track action, just strip it out for track, and then refit everything after.....

Jack
25-10-08, 11:49 AM

Vec GSi is 16E, whilst Clio 172 is 16D :p

Adam
25-10-08, 11:51 AM
Id go with the clio then lol
Will be much quicker

Riggy
25-10-08, 12:37 PM
the 172's are awsome cars , handle really well , as quick as a xe nova all day but comfy and STD lol

Adam
25-10-08, 12:44 PM
Exactly

There quick and handle well FROM standard, which is always a good base to start with lol

Rexy
25-10-08, 08:30 PM
went looking at one today and we was aked to leave, I think we upset the owner pmsl. I'd have a clio 172 all day tbh Insurance is £100 more than im paying for the nova, a gsi is £90 extra.

Dont forget im 26 pmsl.. .

Stoo
25-10-08, 08:31 PM
why were you asked to leave?

Rexy
25-10-08, 08:35 PM

4 or 5 for £2k? Would that not be the cheaper end of the range...?

Rexy
26-10-08, 08:04 PM
nah looking into selling the nova now as opposed to keeping it so i can get a better all round car.

So i can prob getaround 4k, providing it sells for £1500

Jack
26-10-08, 08:06 PM
If you sell the Nova, I give it 3 days before something is changed on whatever replaces it... like a respray lol

Rexy
26-10-08, 08:06 PM
clio's drive very well mate, only problem i have is the seating is too high... But remeber thats just my opinion and my **** is to the floor when i get into the nova. They handle extremely well from standard guise and put the power down without any problems what so ever. This is from driving my mates clio, we didnt bother with the silver one as after the problems i found it was pointless taking it out.

Rexy
26-10-08, 08:15 PM
The "whatever" will more than likly be changed mate, It totally depends on what i get. If i end up with a volvo s40 t4 i wont, If i get a vec gsi Again i prob wont. But if the nova goes and all the money goes into one car... I will prob end up playing with it as i have no toy when i get bored or the MRS is doing my head in.

Ben
27-10-08, 05:47 PM
