my mates doin a 2.0 conversion and went to order some mk2 cav 1.6 inner cvs and the bloke said there is 3 types wot does he want exactlly

iv always just asked for 1988 inners ? i think a part number is BJ16 :)

The 1980-88ish ones, with 22inner splines, and 34 outer splines

but new nova gsi shafts do not match up with them which is strange ?
Nova gsi shafts have 28inner splines

no wot i meant is you can use gte/gsi shafts with 1.6 mk2 cav inners BUT if you buy NEW gte/gsi shafts they dont match up with the cv's :)

No you cant you can use early GTE shafts, very very few GSi, and the odd TD shafts. They have 22 spline on the inner cv end, whereas the common one is to have 28 splines.
So if you buy a New Nova GTE/GSI shaft, theyre going to please the majority and make 28splines.
