it does bolt straight on but you need a to make or buy plates that the caliper will mount onto.

The mk2 Golof ones roughly fit the Nova stub axle pattern on the beam. I think you have to elongate the holes on the stub axles to get them on. Then you have to figure out the hand brake cables as its a tad different to the Nova drums or Astra 16v handbrake assembly.

I've done the 16v setup & found it no hassle at all.

I cut up an Astra (mk2) GTE 16v beam for my conversion. Used the plates off it aswell.

That's what you are meant to do. It alters the stub axle pattern to that of the Astra type.

You can't use Calibra hubs (or those from a Cav with IRS - GSi & 4x4 turbo) as the hubs are different. Only the discs & calipers are any use. The best donor is an Astra GTE 16v or GSi 16v. That will provide you with stub axles, rear plates/caliper carrier, wheel bearings, hub flanges, discs & calipers.

ive always used cavalier stuff on my ones. much easier to get hold of than astra stuff

I didnt think there was much difference between cav/cally/astra rear hubs TBH. The only reason i used Astra stuff is because i had the whole car!!

You will need a 16v mk2 Astra beam as the 8v didnt have discs IIRC.

Not sure on handbrake cable, i'm still after one for mine. I *think* its a cav one you need?
