GT turbo/2litre16v??

wot would a race between a GT turbo and a nova 20litre 16valve be like?? ie acceleration, handling, top speed etc........
both cars engignes would be standard and in top condition, niether cars would have anything bigger than 17's..........

it depends alot on the drive aswell.
it depends on so much,as different gear boxes can be used on the valver etc

the nova wins every time! up to about 60mph its quite even but the nova pulls ahead noticably, then after 60 its a breeze like all small engine turbos, once they hit 100mph there nothing left in them, where as the 16v realy gets going at 100mph and can carry on accelerating past 140mph :lol:

I always thought this sort of question was to be found in the queue for the school bus.

I once sent my mk1 1.2 merit (fitted with 1.6 gte lump + decent suspension & wheels) into a local garage for some brake work and an mot. It came back with the mechanic having done a 35 mile test drive. He was grinning like the cheshire cat, and kept saying it was faster than the R5 gt Turbo he used to have. I don't think he liked the response given. I won't repeat it here. I never went back to the garage.....

i hope he replaced the 2 gallons of fuel he'd have used on a 35 mile test drive with the foot welded to the floor :)
