rear bumper

im looking at taking my rear bumper off my mk1, bt i have'nt got a clue whats holding it on lol, by the looks of it its not bolts, and where abouts on the bumper will it be held on to(like near the arches on the side, and 1 straight in the midddle or somthing, so i know where to start. if its somthing like clips, where are the little f*kers lol and how can i get it off without damageing anything, im looking at smoothing it off and re-spraying it gloss black

Two bolts on the inside of the back panel at each corner of the boot, a clip in the middle undeneath and its just on sliders at the side so should slide right off with the bolts/clip removed!

As above but make sure you pull it off square without ripping the side mounts (they just slide out)

Lol cheers everyone, yeah found the bolt size out, went through a 9.10,10,12 and finally a 13mm lol just finished sanding it down, doesnt look to bad, looks better smoothed, its only a mk1 std rear bumper, but im gomma smooth of of it in, and then have 1 little bit, where the tape/coloured band goes. but also spend a few hours doing it by hand, my dad came home from work and said oh why not use the electric sander? ermmm cause u said last night we didnt have one, he said go and look, so off to the garage and :O there it was, could have saved at least an hour with it :( :P
was abit nervous to see whats underneath but not alot of rust at all...

Best to get the rust sorted now seeing as its not too bad. Had the same thoughts when I took my bumper off for the fırst time.

Luckily it was mint bar a small little circle of rust which was sorted very easily.

As said, get the rust sorted with some krust and paint it, wont matter if the paint isnt the correct match too, wont be able to see it.

Yeah that def needs doing :P stop it getting any worse, so its not a bad shell, the boot was solid and didnt have a mark on it, and the battery tray and engine bay was the same, odd spot here and there.
ive tried re-sizeing the pics mate, on image shack, i use the size i normally use, somthing like 320x240? thats right is'nt it.?

lmfao thats not 320x240, thats 1632×1224 lol

I think imageshack has a thumbnail option that links to a full pic? I find those to be handy for big pics like those.
