Its not a massive problem but an annoying 1 my 1.2 mk1 seems to be delayed in the throttle response

It takes a while for the power to kick in e.g. 1st going into 2nd lift clutch put throttle down delay then power

I think it may be the throttle cable not being tight enough but it wont tighten any more so is it now throttle cable time????

If so where can i get them from?

Thanks :thumb:

Is it a jerky delay? Just thinking it might potentially be an air leak or carb related problem too.

My money is on the carb/inlet.

i think possible over fueling as my sr done that when i blew the engine and put a 1.2 in temp and used the 1.3 inlet and carb.

Could be slightly overfueling because its cold, mine runs rough as anything as its cold.

Are you using the choke properly? I found that when cold and on choke my 1.2 had a very narrow power band that started around 2000rpm, so I had to adjust my driving accordingly until it warmed up enough to run without the choke.

get your carb tuned properly, if you cant get a throttle cable just make up your own using bicycle gear change or brake cable

ATM my choke is always on as it does not fit my mk2 dash so could be that i suppose

It sounds like you say tho has a narrow powerband

Thats going to be your problem then. Warm the car up, pull over, open the bonnet, turn the choke off then drive around like that, see how it runs then.

Get hold of a new choke cable assembly, or something off a scrapped car.

Cables are easy to mess about with & sort something out.

You'll need to pass the cable through the bulkhead, then mount the sheath to something rigid if you want to be able to adjust the choke with one hand. If you don't mind using both hands then just leave it loose under the dash, but above the shelf so it doesnt tangle in the pedals.

Yeah i think the second option is best for now as im looking to drop a bigger engine anyway so two hands will be fine
