engine probs

hi,

ive got a 2.0 16v gte astra. & prob ive got is i pulled up to petrol station tonight, and car started running weird, as i pulled up to stop, it was revving between 3000 and 4500 rpm, like i was blippin the gas, but without me foot on gas, instead of idelin at normal revs,

has anyone had this prob b4 ? any ideas on wot it could b ?

leaking air maybe
faulty throttle position sensor
is it reading any fualt codes
throttle not being able to return to closed position

need to know more, this prob can happen due to a number of things

i've still had no joy with the car :/

ive checked the air flow for leaks, doesnt seem to b any, ive got a k&n ind. kit onit, i un done the SFI box on the throttle body, to check that throttle body opening and that the cable isnt stuck, and these bits ok, when i run the car with the SFI box off the car runs between 1000 - 2000 revs, but not steady, but asoon as its put back its runs at 3500 revs upwards, when i dis- connect the plug off the air flow meter thingy, the revs die down but doesnt cut out like it should do, as soon as plug reconnected it revs up again, for some unknown reason it seems to be suckin in alot more air then requires causin it to rev high at idlein,
