The camber on my 1.2 is way out, the front wheels look like this /---\ and it is ripping the inside of the tires to bits.
The car has been lowered but not by me.
What can i do about it, a friend ha said i need to drill new holes in the top mounts

bit of a bodge, but for every 10mm you lower the car you move the top of shocks over by 1mm.

So like 60mm=6mm.

Otherwise just get your tracking looked at. Not really much else you can do without spending quite a bit of money.

Like whats been said either do the drill mod by moving the shocks or depending how much the camber is out by you can buy camber adjusting bolts which can adjust by a couple degrees.

Heres an example:http://www.hrsprings.com/products/triplec/

other brands also make them.

You can buy camber adjustment bolts.

They replace the higher of the two lower mounting bolts (the horizontal bolts that bolt the hub to the damper) and have a little lobe on them (much like a camshaft) which when rotated push / pull the hub to the desired angle.

This will affect your tracking too though so will need a tracking guage.

Search google for 'camber bolts' (IIRC a site called rally X or similar used to stock them?)

Measure from the centre of the hub / wheel to the arch with the car on the ground.

Bad camber affects the grip moreso on cars with skinny wheels.

However, the easiest fix is to elongate the upper strut holes in the turret & use an adjustable strut brace (OMP for example) to hold the top mounts in position solidly.

Then get it re-tracked.

M8 that would be great if you could i will know how much of an adjustment i need to do on the strut tops.
The idea of adjusteble strut bolts sounds good but i think the adjustment will be to small.
Anyway i have fitted a gsi front anti roll bar and tie rod arms it has helped but not a great deal

What width wheels & tyres have you got?

The lower camber bolts have been known to slip, so the upper mod is better VFM & if you want, you can have washers welded over the holes to make the adjustment permanent.

I was running 175-65-14`s and it was very lose, i`ve now got 185-60-14`s on and it is better but you can really see the camber just by looking at the car

I've only seen slippage on shocks with slotted holes and not proper camber bolts to go with them...

Had the tracking done today, it was 2 degrees out,
The camber is still out but i`m happy with it now so am going to leave it as it is.

Get some camber bolts. Your tyres will probably wear uneven, costing you money!
