I have a 1.2 with a 4 speed box.
What gear box would i need to change it too a five speed.
And also is it a straight swap?
Thanks all

yes, you need a f10 5 speed, you have a f10 4 speed.

yes, you just need to trim a small piece off the gear stick to allow engagement into 5th. a f13 or f15 will bolt straight on aswell :D

Is there any gain at all changing the gearbox?

its a straight swap matey, simply unbolt the old box and bolt up the new one, or just change the cluster

depends what ratios you wind up with etc.. a CR box will improve acceleration, but muller top speed and fuel economy, and vice versa

which of the two f13 or f15 is the best box for acceleration etc. not worrying abou fuel consumption??

I would have thought any 5 speed would be better on fuel consumption than a 4 speed

All will have dismal acceleration lol

I've not got my magical spreadsheet here, its on my other work machine. But iirc the F15 and F13CR boxes were nearly identicle in ratios (check sig linky - speed in gear for more info)

for uber spangly accel an F13 with 4.18+ FD fitted would do the trick
