I've spent most of this morning searching through various forums and the max boost site for the answer to my sudden low oil pressure problem.
From what i read its a common problem for the oil pressure relief valve to get stuck, so i decided to inspect mine to see if this was the cause.......

I took the 24mm blot out with the spring, looked into the bore and it didnt look how i expeted it to.

Heres a pic of the valve assembly i found on mig

Heres some pics of mine with the blot and spring removed. Either the relief valve isnt there or been put in the wrong way.

Looks like i can see it?? They do get stuck, they are hollow inside. Just put your finger in and push it and try twisting its to get it out with a little bit of wd40. If it is stuck then it is probably the cause. When you put it back make sure its nice and oily in the hole/on the valve.

You can get nylon valves from sbd thats probably worth while.

looks like there's no spring unless you've already pulled it out?

Mine used to do this, tuned out to be swarf from a rebuild and my pump was also funked. New pump, good flush and nylon one fitted. No probs since.

Yeah the spring was out for the pic, i can see it now.... just a case of pulling it out.

Was fine on 1st start up no knocks, then yesterday started it after it had sat over night i got a slight knock that lasted 2 seconds and then dissapered.
This morning when i started it very briefly the oil light flashed and the knock didn't stop. It hasn't been run since, checked the oil and thats as it was..... must be down to low or no oil pressure.

Going to order a new pump in the morning and check over the bottom end just to be safe. Just hope i haven't funked anything else

knock could be the cap moving in the chamber?

I'd get a new pump and nylon valve from SBD. For the cost, it could save a full rebuild!
