View Full Version : How do you remove brake calipers?

just thought id make a quick post, i dont have the haynes with me. i just wanted to know how to remove the calipers on novas, so i can replace the pads and spray the calipers. the brakes that i have taken off on other cars - some were allen key bolts at the back and some where just 2 bolts. what is it on novas? thanks!

Get yourself a funking big breaker bar/tube to put over the end of the allen key ;)

Oh fcuk yes!! DO NOT be tempted to use a ring spanner on the allen key to gain leverage! It'll ping off and fly mega far!

yeah they should do. if spraying them red doesnt make them better then ill try removing the pads.

I'd get a set of cavvy/astra 2ltr brakes and spray them. Then put them on instead.

Standard brakes are poo, dont try to polish poo!

yeah polishing poo will just not be good for anyone. i dont want to put uprated brakes on because it bumps up your insurance :(

big brakes = faster braking to avoid idiots on the road. insurance sould be going down not up :D
