Theres a thread in the projects forum somewhere, fitting a v6.
Cant remember the posters username though

There were two V6 projects, neither had pics/info on the rear manifold iirc.

^ I assume they never got that far?

I know one of them was running. I assume it had an exhaust as it wasn't all that loud lol

He sold the car iirc

He sold the car iirc

if my memory is correct, he managed to stick it in really quickly using cav/saab bits then stuck it on ebay straight away.... possibly a bit of hopeful marketing. it was not road legal

Three V6 projects, none of which have any decent pics of the exhaust setup... and none in a "finalized" state. Hmm... Baxter, its not looking good lol

What about the black SR v6 that was around at the shows last year, was in TV iirc is hte owner/builder not on any vaux sites?

Adam

It got wrote off a few month back :(

The owner is a member on VS i think.

Aw youre joking, how did that happen??

Guess that rules out that possibility unless the builder kept a picture diary!

Cant remember exactly, but i think i remember reading that the driver lost the back end and the car slide into a wall/metal fencing.
Was quite a mess

well mounting it at that angle would sort the exhaust issue

General Baxter

DAN-F

well the exhaust is far from special but it does the job while im getting the other made up, this was just to get a kinda working template to make a better one, the guy asked for pics of v6 manifolds so i gave him one of mine

burgo
20-10-08, 04:31 AM
no you didnt. you gave him pics the the downpipe which isnt the problem. it has been said in the past the the back MANIFOLD cant be fitted due to the steering rack and he wants to know what people have done to get around this

DAN-F
20-10-08, 04:38 AM
well my manifold cleared the rack and the downpipe was close so i modded it a little, sorry if i mis-read it

General Baxter

what rear manifold did you use then?

the c25xe item is at an angle at the rear, if left std its left pointing inside the car lol

Like i said its onlt there to be used as like a template so i can take a jig of it and make up a tidy tubular manifold which im gonna tig weld not mig once thats done shouldnt take long to knock out a few

No offence intended Dan.

Anyone know if raising the steering rack mount would help?

burgo

isnt the back manifold just made from tubular steel anyway and not cast like the front one? if it is then just cut and re-weld surely?

Yes it is, but its double skinned and a bit of an **** to weld up. I've got one here, its cut to go around the rack but only tack welded, will need finishing. Not going to need it with a 20ne!lol

General Baxter

iv heard a roomer that the 3.2 manifolds are slightly smaller and will fit with no modding any gen on this ?

Sloth

as afr as i was told, if you cut the flange off, turn it 90 degrees, grind a bit off the cut edge so it points more at the block then re weld, it should fit.
