if i remember correctly its a 2ltr 8v flywhell you need as this will bolt to the small block engine (6bolt holes) and will allow fitment of the larger clutch.

what sorta power are you expecting? you'll probably be fine on the f15, there quite tough to be honest.

going to be pushing about 300bhp with a vxr engine. plan on using it hard track days and the strip

Use your noggin for funk sake, if/when (if ever at all!) said VXR engine finds its way into your Nova, simpy use the VXR box. It would make sense really wouldn't it.......

vxr box has an extra gear too, an f20 wouldnt cope with 300 bhp anyway would it?

depends how much torque is pushing.... but generally I'd not want a 15year old gearbox when there is a 2year old one on offer...

are the vxr boxes easy to get into a nova? theyre cable operated how would that work?

Thats the least of your worries lol VXR's engines cost more then a LET engine & twice as much to tune lol lol

VXR uses a m32 box iirc? Which doesn't go straight in a nova, different mounts iirc

Id soon be swapping mounting points to use a box DESIGNED specifically for said turbocharged engined though Adam. Yea, F20's are cheap as chips, but ask yourself, could you relisticaly be @rsed to change a box every few months once youve rinsed one?

Fit a f28

Fcuk, just buy a LET & F28! You'll pay less for a LET & box then a VXR engine! And fit it in a weekend!

*Awaits one of several replies from O/P along lines of: I want to be different, theyre to heavy, LET's unreliable etc etc*

If i was worried about the box and fitting it then myself id go LET and F28, but if i was determined i wanted a vxr lump i dont see the point of putting an old box on that would destroy itself every few months when the vxr lump has a box designed for it that could be fitted, may be a lot of work to get it in but surely its going to be a fair amount to get the vxr lump in, a little bit more graft for the box would be worth it i would have thought

IMHO Dan, i really do think its one of these threads where some one has seen said engine on ebay and thought "i know, ill get X engine and MAKE it fit" and then though about the cost side of things lol

A f28 would not destroy itself

the vxr box is too much of a pain in the ****. cable linkage and hydraulic clutch. plus a good amount of chassis leg needs cutting out. f28 is the easy option as there are already shafts and mounts for it.

hydro clutch and cable shift are a piece of piss to get sorted.

I take it you intend to run the VXR engine on aftermarket management?
