Rick Draper

why did the nova get broke up though?

Cause it was pap.

Spudly
29-10-08, 02:31 PM
My guess it was broken due to the sheer amount of money tied up in it and the fact that it had been taken as far as was possible for the car and then further so it was time for pastures new, or something along those lines.
I personally think its a shame but tis your decision rick and at least this way youve still got the car in all your photos and mag feature(s) and it will never blown up, break down, rot or be stolen lol

* edit* *my explanation worded very simply there by rick^^^^^* lol

Sloth
29-10-08, 09:07 PM
rick i'm just someone who has followed the build since day one, its my opinion, but your car would have been like k95 vhd, or a16 vtb, ie an icon for our scene. i genuinely feel upset that its gone but like i said there will be another one next year.:) sorry if i offended you.

craig green

The Nova was probably a complete anti-climax to drive after using nicely specced AUDI & Honda daily drivers.

Sloth
29-10-08, 09:24 PM
i'd pick my nova over an audi r8 or a honda nsx-r, never mind daily drivers!
but to buy a corsa. fail. a big one.

no i just love my car and its history, not sad at all. i,ve just bought a rusty mk1 cav because my dad had 4. already attached to it after 1 week of ownership. and grinding and welding!

if i had known that it was for sale as a full car then at 15k we would have talked. like i said imo its one of the best if not the best nova out there ( should be past tense but meh!)oh well i'll jus build a replica.:)

Andy
30-10-08, 09:14 PM
Why build a replica of somebody elses car? dont you have your own ideas to put forward?

Ben
30-10-08, 09:19 PM

any way this has got a bit off topic. why build a replica of ricks car? his thoughts and hard work went into it can you not come up with something yourself? (this is not meant to offend you so please dont take it to heart.

Lee
30-10-08, 10:02 PM
see thats cool. breaking perfectly good cars isnt.

You assume it was a perfectly good car with that statement. It has blatantly been the bain of Ricks life, seeing as he's tried parting with it every few months since he started building it.

As far as im concerned, its probably a relief for him as much as it is for a lot of us that the damn thing has finally died.

And as for the best Nova ever? Maybe as far as the spec and the money thrown at it goes, yes. But surely to be the best ever, it needs to have at least worked reliably for a period of time as well. Sorry, but this just hasn't!

Therefore, great effort, but better luck with the egg!! :thumb:
