I was fortunate enough to be invited out to the Nurburgring at the weekend for a couple of days of free action  . We flew out first thing sunday morning after having no sleep on saturday night  Luckily on arrival in Germany we were taken to collect our weapon of choice for the following two days, an M3 CSL :D Now obviously the best way to stay awake is to fill the car with the sound of a straight six on throttle bodies breathing through a carbon airbox right, here's a couple of phone vids...

On arrival at RSR me and my good friend colin switched the headlights over to Euro mode (which involved removing half the front end) and changing the front discs.

Unfortunately my phones battery died at this point :(
I was expecting to be passenger all weekend, but after helping out with the repairs I was given the job of brake bedding... which obviously is a very arduous task.... Suffice to say I went out and swiftly engaged sport mode, removed DSC and set shift ferocity to max. WHAT A CAR!!! The thing is an absolute joy to drive, virtually faultless on the road. The noise, the acceleration and the best bit, the handling! Absolutely amazing car. Even the SMG box was impressive, although I'm shocked the diff could take the abuse of the seriously thumping hard shifts.
After bedding, I was treated to a flying lap of the ring, in Colins expert hands. He (along with another member of our group, Jamie) have raced in the VLN, so saying they know the circuit is an understatement. I felt truely privilaged to be in the passenger seat, awesome.
A messy night out followed, which involved a serious amount of booze....
Next day dawns and hangovers all round, so after some breakfast and fresh air we headed to the circuit, only to be handed the keys and told to go for it  So I did. I will confess that i chickened out and left DSC on, which severely hampered progress, but no way was I risking £26k of car that I can't afford to replace, especially when feeling groggy, not having driven on circuit for a year, not having driven the ring for at least 2 years and never having driven RWD on a race circuit before! I only got passed by one car, a Z4 coupe with the reg UR 02 SLO....think he's a bit of a regular haha!
All in all a weekend packed full of awesome memories, all of which I'm assured will be happening again
