c20xe oil cooler

is the oil cooler really needed as mine has seen better days and the hoses are leaking , so would rather get rid of it altogether.
if so should i just block the hoses up or what??

dont block them, fit a straight through section.

unlikely its needed if engine is pretty std

easy to get rid go down to a scrappy or vaux dealership as they are only a few quid and ask for an 8v oil filter thread they will know what you mean, the xe one comes out using a 10mm allen the 8v needs screwing in by hand (advisable to put loctite on the thread that goes into the oil pump unless you want the thread to come out eveytime you take oil filter off, just nip it up tight, job done

cant i just take the cooler adaptor plate off so the oil goes straight to the filter instead of to the cooler?
