View Full Version : c20xe late vehicle speed sensor?
Got a later dispak engine, has anyone wired up the vehicle speed sensor on these?? I didnt even think the engine used one, as its usually the tranducer it picks the signal up from?
My car seems to think its doing 40mph when sitting still..lol
They shouldnt need a speed sigal at all, would only need that for abs cruize and the clock if elec.
thats what i thought as im sure the calibra didnt have a sensor on the gearbox.
Keeps changing its mind on what its doing. Will drive fine, then missfire like anything. Throws up o2 sensor open circuit, its had another sensor on it and still same. Its difficult to start? Got another thread but no replies lol
:(
Thats nothing to do will a speed signal.
Is the lambda plug in and working ok? Does it show anymore codes?
Getting a good spark? fuel?
Why does the ecu have a abs speed input signal if it doesn't need it?
Im wiring a speed signal up to mine
I dont have aspeed sensor so i cant wire it up, i never have done before either and im sure the calibra it came from didnt have a speed sensor on the gearbox.
Ive just bought a coilpack to try and trying to find a cam sensor. O2 sensor is plugged in ok. It goes into a closed loop but randomly decides to go back into open circuit for some reason. Im guessing its due to the missfire, giving it poor readings. Sure i tried another coilpack on it before when it was in my mates car but not 100%.
O2 sensor being faulty shouldnt give it starting problems as you can quite easily drive with no o2 sensor.
They dont have them on the gearbox ;)
They take a speed signal from a abs ring on the cv joint

Cruize, and some late clocks use them.
Doesnt need it. Never had it on mine (am fitting it tho for a few things)

Can do it either way.. ;)
