As title says,

Need to get 4 new tyres as my KUmpho chicken ditch finders have had it.

Best wet weather tyres, generally for track use, need to be road legal.

I'm thinking either Goodyear Eagle F1's or Uniroyal Rainsports.

Opinions please.

thankyou.:thumb:

When I had the nova on the road, I use to really enjoy driving it in the wet purely because the eagle F1's had soooo much grip. I haven't driven with Unisports (in anger) but a friend has had both tyres on a polo gti and would recommend the F1's over the rainsports any day.

I've never driven on F1's but IMO the Uniroyal Rainsports are a very good tyre!!

My sis has 195 45 Rainsports on 15x7 inch rims, and I can't get her Corsa to step out at all in the wet.

edit: the rainsports are also quite hard wearing!

I've got a set of Uniroyal Rainsport's for the front of the Nova to be fitted for the crappy weather we've been having lately :)

When i bought my new wheels i asked for good tyres for track days only. And the guy said the uniroyal rainsports because they are a harder compound they are great in the dry aswell. And a full set only cost me £150 :)

Are they what you run?

I've heard funny things about rainsports in the dry, they be a bit wobbly.

Paul - if their good Enoch for your best, then they got to be alright on mine.

I had Uniroyal rainsports on mine a few years ago. I thought they were utter tosh & inspired me with no confidence at all.

However, Olly was running them at Combe back in May (or whenever) when it was very wet & damn cold & he seemed to be pushing very hard, so somewhere along the lines he was getting them to work for him & I saw it with my own eyes. But I wouldnt try another set. It might be worth noting that the Uniroyals appear to be quite large for there size, my old 45/16" ones looked massive compared with the Continentals I was running at the rear.

Yup I run these on my Nova. I also ran the Rainsports. The rainsports were good as well but I think that the F1's have an advantage. Also the rainsports squeal like girls in the backseat when you corner in the dry. Well mine did (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPgUH2nGHqA).

trackdaynova

Olly fails, I run Rainsport 1s, as they have the AAP cuts
http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:gjLjVMUAPbeY0M:http://www.barum-pneu.cz/pics/pneu/uniroyal-rainsport-1.jpg

Rainsport 2s are very similar to Goodyear Eagle F1s, without AAP
