View Full Version : Short steering wheel boss
I've got a Mountney snap off adapter to fit between a boss and steering wheel. It fits my OMP wheel fine but the holes are too far apart to fit my boss so I'll need a new one anyway.
Mountney say their M78X boss is suitable but is 10cm long (same as my current one) so I'd struggle to reach the stalks (the snap-off is about 3cm thick so pushes the wheel out further)
Any suggestions would be great. :thumb:
Most tend to be the same length so that it puts the wheel back in roughly the OE position for driving! The snap off bosses always add extra length to the wheel + boss combo!:(
So you need a shorter boss basically?
Have a butchers on the Demon Tweeks site Ian, they do 10, 20 & 30mm alloy steering wheel spacers. Or at least they used to anyway?
Yeah Tweeks sell spacers, which will push the wheel further out, opposite of what I want to do lol
My current boss is 10cm, and the snapoff is 3cm, and I can't reach the stalks from 13cm away. So I ideally need a 7cm boss to retain the normal length, and one that'll fit the snapoff's hole pattern.

Weld it! lol
That's your solution to everything lol
im cutting mine this weekend and shortening it ready for a snap off boss.
so do that, momo made a smaller one but £40 from demon tweeks
get some longer arms
Rosejointed steering arms? lol
Ian, you still got standard Nova indicator stalks?
Got the rounder Astra/Corsa stalks in.
Still not sure what I'm doing regarding fitting this yet lol

Doh, my theories flawed then lol ive not seen stubby adapters TBH, got me thinking though, when i put my snap-off on my boss, ill prolly have the same issue!
Although i drive with the seat as close to the wheel as possible, so I may get away with it
I'm not far away from the wheel, but unless you're Salad Fingers I can imagine it's annoying to reach the stalks.
