Mk1 Restoration bootlid

I have a MK1 bootlid with the rap around spoiler on. Is it possible to take the glass out from the bootlid without removing the spolier as from the front the spoiler seems to lay over the rubber window sill slightly. I dont want to remove the spoiler as its factory fitted.

Mine came out without removing the spoiler, from the inside pull the rubber from the tailgate.
I started at the bottom and worked my way up, got to about half way and it pulled straight out. Found it helped to have someone to assist.

Had ago at this but still struggling, can anyone else shed any light. maybe im being to gentle with the glass

You need to bend the rubber back, then push the glass at the same time.

well if you use the rubber of the tailgate you already have why dont you just slice the rubber and pull the glass out?
